DESIGN PROCESS

Visual Inspiration

The director was interested in a few concepts. The idea of a performance group using a found space to produce this show. In addition, the idea of looking up into the sky during endless cold/night. The show also involves a mixture of both period and contemporary music. I was tasked with finding what the found space would be.  This led me in the direction of creating an abandoned theater that resembles period stylings in a contemporary world. I was also heavily inspired by the celestial/techno underscoring and researched various imagery to translate it.  The parquet floor imagery influenced the development of the main platforming.
