Emotional Response Collage

Within this collage I wanted to express the adolescent struggles of these characters finding out who they are. I was also very moved by the edgy rock styles in the music. I compared that feeling to various charcoal sketch drawings as seen here.

Visual Inspiration

This show was done as a film due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conceptually the director wanted to create a dynamic between the songs in a contemporary (COVID) world and the

dialogue scenes within 1891. Due to it being filmed within Athens, OH a lot of my inspiration stemmed from period architecture and surrounding areas. In addition, delving into contemporary dorm rooms as the cast members would have to record within their own dorm rooms. This also involved transforming some of their rooms that were otherwise undecorated.

Transition Card Renderings

Between songs and scenes, the director requested having transition cards. Utilizing photoshop and photos I captured, I manipulated the images to have a similar sketch look used in my emotional collage.
