DESIGN PROCESS
Visual Inspiration
Conceptually, the director and I wanted to create a resemblance of the characters grief from the plane crash. We leaned into that empty feeling when loosing a loved one. The crash holds this huge weight on the characters. This lead us to include elements resembling the rubble through exposed lighting instruments, rigging, etc.
We also had to transition from an onstage experience to Zoom due to COVID 19. We then decided to implement telling this story in an online world through more digital imagery.

Initial Sketch/ Vectorworks Models
We wanted to create a seamless Zoom theater experience. The idea was to combine Vectorworks renderings with different Zoom frames, and creating transitions using the program OBS. Each transition could then fade into a new group of characters and omit the others not in the scene. I was also able to simulate lighting changes in this process.
Final Base Rendering
Created in Vectorworks 2020
Transition Demonstration
Created using Vectorworks 2020, Photoshop, OBS
This demonstrates how I was able to combine Vectorworks renderings into OBS to create lighting/screen transitions.
